It's been a long day today.
We're still doing student induction sessions.
We have delivered inductions to more than 2300 students which is excellent.
Still more sessions booked in for this week and next week leading up to half term.
This evening has been quietish - no apparent reason for it.
Anyhow a good chance to catch up on outstanding tasks.

Inductions
Inductions this week have gone really well. We have done a lot of sessions - more than 10 a day. The groups of students have been varied both subject wise and ability wise but we have managed to deliver the information to them all. The logging on has been better than I expected - if they take care when inputting the information then it usually works. Sessions include logging on to the system, logging on to Blackboard, accesssing emails and setting up Print accounts & printing. After problems last week with the printers the situation has improved this week. It is good for the profile of the LRC & gives us a chance to interact with the students & get the message across.

Reconfiguration of LRC
The work has started this week on seperating off the ground floor from the rest of the LRC. We are providing a limited service from the 3rd Floor which is actually going quite well. Printing is causing a few problems but we have now got an extra MFD.
Today they are starting to move the shelves on the 2nd Floor from one end to the other - easier said than done.
